An open letter from Rob Hassold, President and CEO, Cimquest, Inc, to Cimquest’s SolidWorks Customers

May 1, 2014

As a loyal and respected Cimquest customer, I need to share significant, exciting news about how our company is embracing manufacturing advancements and how these decisions affect our SolidWorks’ customers. As you’ve come to expect from us, we have always stayed ahead of the technological curve with our products and services so that you are, too. Within the last few years, manufacturing technology has evolved tremendously, and I wanted to ensure that we were in a position to remain a valuable resource for our customers now and well into the future.

We are excited to sharpen our focus on the additive & subtractive manufacturing spaces including Mastercam CAD/CAM Software and Stratasys 3D Printers and Production Machines. In addition, in the near future we will be unveiling some new products and services to better serve our customers as well as make us an even more valued business partner.

As manufacturing becomes a more important economic driver for the United States and the reshoring of manufacturing back to the US continues to accelerate, Cimquest wants to enhance our value in the manufacturing community.

While streamlining our overall mission, the one aspect that wasn’t fitting into our refined focus was SolidWorks – CAD and Product Design. After 23 years of representing several CAD software developers, it was difficult to contemplate letting it go. Dassault Systems SolidWorks is the number one CAD technology provider and continues to offer the highest quality innovative products. Cimquest has had a wonderful relationship with Dassault Systemes for 18 years. Frankly, my biggest worry was to ensure that our SolidWorks’ customers were put in the best possible hands for their SolidWorks needs and that the transition for them would be seamless.

Cimquest and SolidWorks worked diligently together over the past year to create the ideal solution for the Cimquest SolidWorks customer base, and we are confident that you will be very satisfied with your new reseller.

So, to sum up, the message I wanted to convey to you today is that:
1. I sincerely appreciate your business. It means the world to me. The trust you have placed in my staff is the stuff that dreams are made of. Thank you.
2. Cimquest will continue to be heavily invested in and dedicated to selling, supporting, and providing training in Mastercam CAD/CAM software and Stratasys 3D printers. We are a value-added, authorized reseller for these fine products and are honored to be. Thank you.
3. You have a professional and reliable new authorized reseller for SolidWorks. We have had a very satisfying time helping you learn and apply the program. Over the years, we have learned just as much from you. Thank you.
Most importantly, we have become friends. And for that I thank you most of all.

Cimquest Announces Merger with Services Four Automation
Now One of the US’ Largest Mastercam Resellers

Two top ten Mastercam resellers join forces

Bedminster, NJ – January 3, 2012 – Cimquest Inc, a leading Mastercam reseller for over 20 years, has announced a merger with S4A (Services Four Automation) of Sterling, MA, to create the one of the largest CAM support teams in the US. With this new structure, the team at S4A will continue to support and service its New England-based Mastercam and Cimco DNC software customer-base.

According to Mark Summers, President of CNC Software, “We see this as a great development for everyone concerned. The Cimquest/SFA customers should benefit from the combined talent pool resulting from the merger of both these leading organizations. With our product line expanding, it is ever more important for our resellers to have enough resources to effectively support our technologies.”

Rob Hassold, President and CEO of Cimquest Inc, reports, “Both organizations have a history of delivering unrivalled CAM service and support. The merger can only have an extremely positive effect on all of our customers as our talent pool grows and we have even more CAM expertise to draw upon. The launch of Mastercam X6 is here, and we will continue to schedule X6 Release Seminars and look forward to welcoming all of the S4A customers at these events.”

Stephen Biehl, President of Services Four Automation said, “Services Four Automation has always strived to deliver the latest manufacturing technologies. This merger allows us to add new and exciting technology like uPrint 3D printers, expand Cimco DNC technologies further into the mid-Atlantic region, and grow our Service and Support staff. This is a great enhancement to both S4A’s and Cimquest’s existing customers.

Manufacturing firms find cost-effective way to create new products
By Brian Pedersen

Advancements in 3-D technology are helping several regional firms find cost-effective solutions to the lack of skilled laborers entering the manufacturing industry.

Thanks to the fast-evolving science of additive manufacturing, 3-D objects are built via a sort of “copying machine” that adds layers of material until the product is completed. The process allows companies to automate production, generate faster product turnaround times, and grow their business at a fraction of the cost of farming out the work to another company or bringing the high-priced machinists needed to create such a product the traditional way.

Competitive dimension Central Pennsylvania manufacturers gain advantage with 3-D printing
By Jim T. Ryan

When time and money are precious commodities, three-dimensional printing — also known as rapid prototyping — offers a way to save both and gain a competitive edge by providing tangible proof-of-concept for products, manufacturing companies said.

The 3-D printers — which employ a process like ink-jet printers to build complex forms by spraying layer upon layer of plastic based on a digital image, are becoming invaluable tools for Central Pennsylvania manufacturers, executives said. Such a machine can build a prototype that validates new product designs without energy, time, manpower and materials that would be used to make a part or series of parts in metal.
