Course Title: SolidWorks Simulation Premium

Prerequisite: SolidWorks Simulation Professional (knowledge of the basic principles in Vibrations is also strongly recommended but not required)

Description:
This 4-day class will teach basic and advanced topics in non-linear stress analysis. Learn how to deal with models that exhibit large displacements and/or yielding, discuss and practice the use of material models available in SolidWorks Simulation and, how to drive a non-linear analysis to successful completion. This course will also cover various advanced topics in Dynamics, including; time dependent analysis, harmonic analysis and random vibrations.

  • Nonlinearity in Structural analysis
  • Large displacement analysis
  • Nonlinear material models for hyper-elastic, rubber, elasto-plastic, linear-visco elastic and creep
  • Contact Analysis
  • Numerical procedures for nonlinear FEA
  • Solution Control techniques – force, displacement and arc-length control
  • Convergence criteria
  • Steady-state harmonic analysis
  • Modal time history analysis
  • Random vibration
  • Damping models- Rayleigh, Modal, Composite
  • Various types of excitation –uniform, non-uniform, harmonic, PSD curves
  • Interpreting Solver Error messages
  • Post-processing (different types of plots, results graph etc)
